90 years ago today, hostilities ceased for the first world war. At 11 am this morning {Australian time (11/11/2008)} thousands around Australia paused to remember those who fell and have fallen in conflicts in the last 90 years. As part of a monthly newsletter I compile I wrote a poem, this is that poem.

~~I Shall Stand Still

At 11am I shall stand still,
I shall bow my head,
Possibly even weep.
I shall be thankful,
For those who kept my country safe
And for those who still do.
At 11 am I shall stand still,
And remember.~~
